Synopsis

Oasis set up to play "Morning Glory" in a cramped apartment tower, treating the building like an impromptu rehearsal room. As Liam Gallagher delivers the song with his trademark swagger, the performance is interrupted by increasingly irritated residents gathering outside the door. Exterior shots of Balfron Tower establish the setting, while the band plays amid tight spaces, stark lighting, and a deliberately rough atmosphere. The video ends with the neighbors confronting the group just as the performance comes to a close.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The opening exterior shots feature Balfron Tower in Poplar, East London, a landmark residential building designed by architect Ernő Goldfinger.
  • The video's central joke is built around Oasis' loud, disruptive performance. The neighbors' growing frustration turns a straightforward band performance into a small-scale apartment-block rebellion.
  • The interior scenes were staged to feel like an improvised flat gig rather than a polished studio performance, matching the song's abrasive guitar sound and confrontational mood.
  • "Morning Glory" appeared on Oasis' second album, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?", released in 1995. The video helped present the title track as one of the record's harder-edged moments, contrasting with its better-known ballads.
  • The final sequence brings the residents together outside the band's door, with their protest reaching its peak just as Oasis finishes playing and begins packing away its equipment.
