Synopsis

Johnny Cash inhabits the role of a killer recounting the fate of Delia. In stark black-and-white imagery, he carries Kate Moss, playing Delia, through a bleak landscape and cemetery while singing about the shooting that ended her life. Moss appears motionless and ghostlike, at times suspended beneath a noose and later lying in a grave as dirt falls over her. Cash alternates between handling the body and performing with his guitar, turning the traditional murder ballad into a grim visual portrait of violence and possession.

• Kate Moss plays Delia, making the video one of her earliest prominent music-video appearances. She is credited as Delia in the cast listing.
