Synopsis

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are transformed into animated versions of themselves for a chaotic amusement-park ride alongside Beavis and Butt-Head. As the band performs "Love Rollercoaster," the characters hurtle through an enormous roller coaster filled with frantic twists, colorful scenery, and comic danger. Scenes from the animated film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America are intercut throughout, tying the video directly to the soundtrack while matching the song's fast, playful energy.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The video was created to promote the Red Hot Chili Peppers' cover of the Ohio Players' 1975 funk hit "Love Rollercoaster."
  • The song was recorded for the soundtrack to the 1996 animated feature Beavis and Butt-Head Do America and was released as a single in November 1996.
  • The music video uses the same animated world as the film, combining newly animated footage of the band with clips from Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.
  • Mike Judge, the creator of Beavis and Butt-Head, selected the song for the project.
  • The recording features Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, and Dave Navarro. It was produced by Sylvia Massy and the band.
  • The Chili Peppers reportedly never performed the track live, making the soundtrack recording and its animated video the song's primary legacy within the band's catalog.
