Synopsis: I’m Just Sayin’ is a tense, character-driven short film that unfolds during an unexpected traffic stop between two strangers from entirely different worlds. When a white driver is pulled over by a Black police officer, what begins as a routine stop quickly turns into a heated misunderstanding. The driver assumes the officer’s actions are racially motivated, and the officer grows increasingly frustrated by the accusation.
But as the confrontation escalates, a surprising truth emerges: beneath the surface, both men share a personal struggle that neither could have guessed. What starts as a moment of suspicion slowly transforms into a conversation about bias, perception, and the assumptions we make about each other. Through sharp dialogue, emotional honesty, and a contained single-location setting, I’m Just Sayin’ challenges viewers to examine how quickly we jump to conclusions — and how human connection can appear in the most unlikely moments. The film ultimately reveals that sometimes, the thing that divides us is the very thing we have in common.
