The imagery mirrors the song's catalogue of end-of-the-world fears, from war and disease to technological anxiety and religious dread. Against this dark spectacle, childlike and playful elements suggest innocence surviving the constant predictions of disaster. The video gradually turns its freefall into a journey away from panic and toward release, reflecting the song's underlying message that hope can outlast humanity's obsession with imagining the end.

Factoids & Trivia

• "The Day Of..." was released as the second single from Nightwish's tenth studio album, "Yesterwynde." The single arrived on August 8, 2024, while the music video followed on August 13.

• Production, story and art direction came from Khimoo, the Finnish creative company associated with Nightwish's "Imaginaerum" film and several of the band's previous visual projects.

• The concept was described by Khimoo as a sideways freefall, inspired in part by Don Rosa and the short film "Matter of Some Gravity."

• The production used Unreal Engine, with filming taking place at Valofirma / Lighthouse Studios. Its credits include dedicated set construction, 3D artwork, stunt rigging and visual-effects work.
