Synopsis

Avenged Sevenfold perform in a barren, flame-filled wasteland as a seemingly endless crowd approaches from beyond a ridge. Moving with zombie-like stiffness, the figures advance toward the band before reaching a vast opening in the ground. One by one, they leap into the darkness, with several transformed into skull-faced apparitions along the way. The final jump triggers a dramatic pullback: the supposed pit is revealed as the eye of the band's Deathbat logo, turning the video's apocalyptic spectacle into a striking visual emblem.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The video premiered on Fuse's "The Sauce" on September 24, 2007, shortly before the band's self-titled album arrived on October 30.
  • The video's central image was reportedly inspired by a Wendy's commercial the band saw while traveling in Asia. M. Shadows joked about reversing the commercial's charging crowd and having people run toward the band in a fiery setting.
  • The closing reveal connects the video directly to the Deathbat artwork associated with Avenged Sevenfold, making the band's emblem part of the video's physical landscape rather than merely an end card.
  • "Almost Easy" was the second track on the self-titled album and one of the records first singles. The album marked the band's first attempt at self-production.
  • The song later expanded beyond the standard album and single cycle through appearances in "Need for Speed: ProStreet," "Rock Band 2," and downloadable content for "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock." It was also performed by the USC Trojan Marching Band during the 2009 Rose Bowl halftime show.
