Synopsis

In a pink apartment filled with champagne, Peke, a mature Pekingese dog, spends his days with the Pink Lady, his human companion and romantic obsession. Their luxurious surroundings offer plenty of comfort but no real excitement, leaving the pair trapped in a cycle of boredom, drinking and play. As The Zax sing about having "nothing to celebrate," the video turns their strange, impossible relationship into a surreal portrait of excess, loneliness and escapism.

• The video uses a deliberately artificial pink-on-pink world, with the apartment, champagne and characters all contributing to its exaggerated visual style.

• Peke is a puppet character rather than a computer-generated creation. The production credits Benoit Creac'h as puppeteer and Violetta as the on-screen talent behind the Pink Lady.

• Ben&Julia said the video was made entirely practically. They also described the production as an attempt to keep the project simple and emphasized the importance of working with friends.
