Synopsis

An animated companion to Leslie Early's acoustic whisper-pop song, "Your Car" turns a simple drive into a whimsical, dreamlike adventure. The car becomes the center of a playful visual world where movement, romance, and imagination take over. Rather than following a conventional narrative, the video uses hand-drawn animation and surreal imagery to echo the song's affectionate lyrics about riding together, watching the stars, and continuing down the road without worrying about the destination.

Factoids & Trivia

• Leslie Early first performed "Your Car" at a Christmas party in her apartment in Seoul, South Korea.

• The idea for the video came before the song had been recorded. Early discussed the concept with artist Soojin Kwon, describing a car surrounded by "all kinds of crazy stuff," and then recorded the track so Kwon could begin the animation.

• Soojin Kwon animated the video and also created the cover art for the *Your Car EP*.

• Early described the release as her first experiment in DIY recording. She wrote, performed, and recorded all three songs on the EP herself.

• The *Your Car EP* was released on March 1, 2010, and also includes "Brooklyn Lullaby" and "Snowflakes."

• The song's video belongs to a small group of animated Leslie Early projects, alongside the animated clip for "Snowflakes" and the later "Dreaming of New York."
