Synopsis

Set against a bleak, nocturnal desert landscape, the video follows Brendon Urie as he drives through the outskirts of Las Vegas in search of Miss Jackson, a mysterious and seemingly dangerous woman played by Katrina Bowden. The journey moves between motel rooms, empty roads, mirrors, cigarettes, and unsettling encounters with onlookers. Their meeting culminates in a macabre ritual involving a knife, after which the gathered crowd treats Urie as its new leader.

Factoids & Trivia

• Although the opening title card identifies Las Vegas, the motel scenes were filmed at a Motel 6 in Barstow, California. The deliberately run-down location helped create the video's sense of isolation and decay.

• The visual concept was intended to evoke the less glamorous side of Las Vegas rather than its casino spectacle. The creative approach emphasized deserted streets, harsh lighting, and an atmosphere that feels closer to a strange short film than a conventional band performance.

• Katrina Bowden, known for playing Cerie on the television comedy "30 Rock," appears opposite Brendon Urie as Miss Jackson.

• The video was released on July 15, 2013, alongside the launch of the song as the first single from "Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!"

• The song's title and the recurring question "Are you nasty?" reference Janet Jackson, adding a pop-culture layer to the video's provocative imagery.

• The video's repeated mirrors, peep-hole views, television screens, and acts of self-observation reinforce the song's themes of vanity, performance, and sexual reputation.

• The theatrical presentation was part of the campaign introducing the band's fourth studio album, with the video arriving alongside the album announcement and related tour news.
