Synopsis

Hal Hefner is a shy New Jersey teenager whose pronounced stutter makes school and family life difficult. After developing a crush on an ambitious debate champion, he joins the debate team and struggles to find confidence, discipline, and his own voice. His awkward efforts lead him through humiliating setbacks, shifting friendships, and an uncertain coming-of-age journey.
