Synopsis

High-schooler Ferris Bueller decides to skip school and enjoy an extraordinary day in Chicago. With his girlfriend and his anxious best friend in tow, he borrows a prized Ferrari, visits famous landmarks, eats at an exclusive restaurant, and joins a parade. Meanwhile, Ferris' suspicious sister and determined principal pursue him, while Cameron confronts the fears that have kept him trapped.

• The Ferrari crash used a fiberglass shell rather than an original Ferrari. Three replicas were built for the production, including functional vehicles for driving scenes.

• The economics lecture was largely improvised. The performer playing the teacher was asked to deliver an actual lecture, so much of the classroom speech was not scripted.
