Factoids & Trivia
- Quantum of Solace is the first direct sequel in the official James Bond series, beginning approximately 10 minutes after the conclusion of Casino Royale.
- The title comes from a 1960 Ian Fleming short story in the collection For Your Eyes Only. The film's story is not an adaptation of that tale; it uses only the title and its broad emotional idea.
- The production filmed in six countries: the United Kingdom, Panama, Chile, Mexico, Italy, and Austria.
- For the rooftop chase in Siena, existing roof tiles were removed and the structures were reinforced so the stunt performers would not break through them.
- The climactic fire sequence required 54 controlled explosions on the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios, carried out over a 12-day period.
- The freefall sequence was filmed in a wind tunnel facility rather than by having the performers jump from an aircraft.
- "Another Way to Die" was the first James Bond title song performed as a duet. It was written and performed by Jack White and Alicia Keys, with music by David Arnold.
- The film's traditional gun-barrel sequence appears at the end rather than at the beginning, where it is incorporated into the closing credits.
- With a running time of 106 minutes, Quantum of Solace is one of the shortest films in the official Bond series.
