Synopsis

Framed for a series of murders, vampire hunter Blade becomes the target of both law enforcement and the supernatural world. Forced into hiding, he joins the Nightstalkers, a young vampire-hunting team led by Abigail Whistler and Hannibal King. Together, they uncover a plan to resurrect Dracula, the ancient progenitor of the vampire race, and must stop him before humanity is overwhelmed.

Factoids & Trivia

• David S. Goyer had written the first two Blade films before taking over the screenplay for the third installment. Guillermo del Toro, who directed Blade II, contributed conceptual artwork and received an acknowledgment in the end credits.

• Triple H was initially considered a surprising choice for the role of Jarko Grimwood. Goyer was reportedly won over by the wrestler's comic timing and expanded the part during production.

• Jessica Biel trained extensively in archery for the role of Abigail Whistler. During filming, an arrow struck a camera lens and destroyed a camera reportedly valued at more than $300,000. Footage of the mishap was included among the DVD extras.

• The theatrical release received an R rating, while the later unrated home-video edition runs more than nine minutes longer and includes additional story material and action.

• The film's music blends Ramin Djawadi's score with contributions associated with RZA, continuing the series' interest in combining dark action imagery with hip-hop-oriented soundtracks.
