Synopsis

After leaving prison, Ina returns to her abandoned childhood home in a remote Brandenburg settlement. There she encounters Domuehl, a struggling alcoholic whose life has stalled, and Hagen, a large, intellectually disabled man searching for his uncle after getting off the train too early. Their uneasy meeting gradually becomes an unlikely connection among three isolated people.

Factoids & Trivia

• The film was adapted from Oliver Bukowski's play "Burnout," with the screenplay developed by Bukowski and Pepe Planitzer.

• "AlleAlle" was the original title, while "Alle Alle" is also used as a spaced variant. The production's working title was "Flaeming," referring to the Brandenburg region where much of the story takes place.

• Filming took place in Brandenburg, including Jueterbog, from August 30 to October 15, 2005. The production lasted 28 shooting days.

• The movie was recorded in HDV and later transferred to 35mm film for a widescreen Cinemascope presentation.

• "AlleAlle" premiered on February 12, 2007, in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section of the Berlin International Film Festival.

• The film received the main prize from the international jury at the 2007 Neisse Film Festival.

• The bleak rural setting is closely tied to the former military settlement of Altes Lager, an area portrayed as partly abandoned after German reunification. This landscape gives the film much of its sense of social and personal dislocation.

• The German theatrical release took place on July 10, 2008.
