Synopsis

Peter Parker is enjoying newfound fame while preparing for a future with Mary Jane Watson, but his life becomes increasingly unstable when an alien symbiote bonds with him. As the dark influence intensifies his anger and arrogance, he faces Sandman, Venom, and the vengeful Harry Osborn, forcing Peter to confront guilt, jealousy, and the destructive consequences of revenge.

• With an estimated production budget of $258 million, Spider-Man 3 was the most expensive film ever made when it was released in 2007.

• Venom was added during development at producer Avi Arad's request. Gwen Stacy was also introduced after the producers asked for the character to be included.

• Camera crews began filming effects-heavy material in November 2005, months before principal photography, allowing Sony Pictures Imageworks to start work on the visual effects early.

• Principal photography began on January 16, 2006, and used locations in Los Angeles, Cleveland, and New York City. The production ultimately required more than 900 visual-effects shots.

• Christopher Young composed the score after Danny Elfman, who had scored the first two films, did not return because of creative differences and scheduling conflicts.
