Synopsis

After a jewel theft goes wrong, pint-sized criminal Calvin Sims hides a valuable diamond in a stranger's purse. To retrieve it, he poses as an abandoned baby and is taken in by a couple eager to become parents. As Calvin struggles to recover the stone without exposing himself, his criminal past, increasingly chaotic behavior, and the mob's pursuit threaten his bizarre disguise.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The film's central premise was adapted from the 1954 Bugs Bunny cartoon "Baby Buggy Bunny," in which a small criminal disguises himself as a baby to recover stolen loot.
  • Calvin's scenes used an unusual visual-effects process. Dwarf actors Linden Porco and Gabriel Pimentel performed the sequences with the other actors, while Marlon Wayans separately filmed the same action against a green screen. The final images combined Wayans' head with the performers' bodies.
  • Filming took place in the Vancouver area from September 17, 2005, through January 21, 2006.
  • Released in the United States on July 14, 2006, the movie earned more than $100 million worldwide despite receiving strongly negative reviews.
  • The film received seven Golden Raspberry Award nominations and ultimately won three, including Worst Actor for Marlon and Shawn Wayans.
