Synopsis

Three lifelong outsiders finally get a chance to prove themselves when they form an unlikely three-man baseball team. With support from a wealthy benefactor, they enter a statewide Little League tournament and become heroes to bullied kids everywhere. Their winning streak is threatened when the team's best player is exposed as having been a bully himself.

• The story's central controversy involving an overage Little League player and a forged birth certificate was inspired by the real Danny Almonte scandal from 2001.

• Reggie Jackson's training drills in the film were based on exercises he had actually used as a child.
