Factoids & Trivia
- The film expands the mythology introduced in Underworld by exploring the origins of the vampire-Lycan conflict and the Corvinus bloodline.

- A romantic scene between Selene and Michael was reportedly interrupted by the unexpected use of Bryan Adams' "Everything I Do (I Do It for You)," causing the cast and crew to laugh.
- Zita Gorog's dialogue as Amelia was dubbed after the original microphones failed to capture her voice clearly.
- Visual-effects company Luma Pictures handled major digital work, including creature transformations, computer-generated creatures, wings, and environments.
- Several scenes were previewed at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2005. The presentation deliberately avoided revealing significant plot details.
- Released on January 20, 2006, the film became the second entry in the Underworld series and was followed by the prequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans in 2009.
