Synopsis

FBI agent Malcolm Turner returns to his oversized undercover persona, Big Momma, to investigate a computer worm that could expose sensitive government databases. Posing as a nanny, he enters the home of suspected programmer Tom Fuller and must manage three unruly children, household chores, and a dangerous conspiracy. As Malcolm's investigation collides with his family life, the disguise becomes increasingly difficult to maintain.

• Released by 20th Century Fox on January 27, 2006, the film runs 99 minutes and was produced with a reported $40 million budget.

• Although the story is set in Orange County, California, filming took place in several Louisiana and California locations, including New Orleans, Kenner, Costa Mesa, and Redondo Beach. Production began on April 25, 2005.

• The sequel opened at number one in the United States with approximately $27.7 million. At the time, this was the second-biggest opening weekend for a Martin Lawrence film, behind *Bad Boys II*.

• The movie was a commercial success despite very poor reviews. It earned roughly $141.5 million worldwide, while critics gave it a 5 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 34 out of 100 score on Metacritic.

• Audiences were considerably more receptive than critics, awarding the film an "A-" CinemaScore.

• The film received a 2006 Golden Raspberry Award nomination for Worst Prequel or Sequel, but lost to *Basic Instinct 2*.
