Synopsis

Ex-Army major Paul Krenner forces scientist Peter Ulof to perfect a radiation device that makes living subjects transparent. After arranging safecracker Joey Faust's escape, Krenner compels him to use the invention to steal nuclear materials. As Faust discovers the machine's dangerous side effects and learns why Ulof is being coerced, the criminal begins plotting against his captors.

• The film's working title was The Invisible Intruder.

• It was filmed in Dallas, Texas, back-to-back with Edgar G. Ulmer's science-fiction film Beyond the Time Barrier. Principal photography began on April 25, 1959, at United National Studios.

• Miller Consolidated Pictures gave the film a brief release in February 1960. After the company's bankruptcy, American International Pictures acquired it and re-released it on September 8, 1960, as part of a double feature with Beyond the Time Barrier.

• The ending breaks the fourth wall when Dr. Peter Ulof faces the audience and asks, "What would you do?"

• The picture marked Marguerite Chapman's final feature-film appearance.

• The film later gained cult visibility through its inclusion in Mystery Science Theater 3000 in March 1995.

• Although the screen credits carry a 1960 copyright notice, the film was not registered for copyright at the time of its original release. A videocassette registration was filed in 1986.
