Synopsis

In 1850 California, Don Alejandro de la Vega struggles to balance family life with his secret identity as Zorro. When a conspiracy threatens California's admission to the Union, Alejandro returns to action. With help from Elena and their young son Joaquin, he uncovers a plot involving explosives, political corruption, and a secret society determined to plunge the United States into chaos.

• The film is a sequel to The Mask of Zorro (1998), reuniting Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Alejandro and Elena.

• The project went through several working titles, including The Mask of Zorro 2, Zorro Unmasked, Zorro 2, and The Return of Zorro before becoming The Legend of Zorro.

• Antonio Banderas performed most of his own stunts, continuing the physically demanding approach used on the previous film.
