Synopsis

Yuri Orlov builds a lucrative international arms empire by exploiting political upheaval, selling weapons to governments, warlords, and anyone else who can pay. As his business expands across continents, Yuri faces pressure from an ambitious Interpol agent, growing instability within his family, and the moral consequences of turning human conflict into personal profit.

• The production purchased approximately 3,000 real rifles because they were cheaper to obtain than specially made prop weapons. Most were later sold back at a loss, while some were destroyed to keep them from returning to circulation.

• The large weapons-sale sequence used 50 genuine T-72 tanks supplied by a Czech arms dealer. The tanks were due to be sold to Libya, giving the production only a limited period in which to film the scene.

• The concentration of tanks was substantial enough to attract attention from NATO reconnaissance systems. The filmmakers reportedly had to notify NATO so the buildup would not be mistaken for a real military mobilization.

• The cargo aircraft seen in the film was supplied by an actual arms dealer. According to production interviews, the aircraft had been transporting real weapons shortly before it was used for the movie.
