Synopsis

In 2019, Lincoln Six Echo lives in a highly controlled compound where residents dream of being chosen for a supposedly idyllic island. After discovering that the facility's population consists of clones maintained for wealthy sponsors, Lincoln escapes with Jordan Two Delta. Hunted by mercenaries and the institution's leaders, the pair race to expose the cloning operation and claim their right to live.

• The film's premise drew comparisons to the 1979 science-fiction film Parts: The Clonus Horror. Its director, Robert S. Fiveson, sued DreamWorks and Warner Bros., citing numerous similarities. The case was settled before trial for an undisclosed seven-figure amount.

• The underground facility scenes were filmed inside an abandoned power plant in Los Angeles. During production, the plant's generators unexpectedly came online during a local power outage, creating extreme noise and temperatures reportedly reaching 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

• The destructive highway sequence involving a truck loaded with train wheels came from an observation during production. Michael Bay reportedly noticed a similar flatbed truck while driving near Palmdale and developed the action scene from the idea.

• The black-and-white commercial featuring Sarah Jordan was an existing commercial starring Scarlett Johansson rather than footage created specifically for the film.
