Synopsis
A team of FBI profiler trainees travels to a remote island to complete an advanced simulation exercise. When the training scenario turns deadly, the group realizes that a real killer is manipulating the island's traps and staged crime scenes. Cut off from outside help, the trainees must apply their profiling skills while trying to determine which member of the group may be responsible.

- The film was shot entirely in the Netherlands, using locations in Amsterdam, The Hague, Delft, Zandvoort, Ossendrecht, and the Veluwe region.
- Although production took place from January through September 2002, the film was not released in the United States until May 13, 2005. The long delay became one of the film's most notable production details.
- The studio deliberately avoided presenting one character as the obvious lead. The approach was intended to make every member of the group seem vulnerable.
- The cast met with FBI personnel and received military weapons training to prepare for the roles.
- LL Cool J lost nearly 40 pounds for the production and spent time with homicide detectives in Philadelphia.
- Clifton Collins Jr. prepared for his role by traveling around Hollywood Boulevard in a wheelchair and consulting a doctor about portraying a person with a disability.
- The dominoes shown in close-up during one sequence were specially made at roughly ten times the size of ordinary dominoes.
