Factoids & Trivia
- The film is based on Helen Fielding's 1999 sequel novel, "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," and continues the story begun in "Bridget Jones's Diary."
- Principal photography took place from October 6, 2003, to February 15, 2004.
- Production used locations in London, including Bedale Street for exteriors of Bridget's flat and the Italian Gardens in Hyde Park for the fight between Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver.
- The skiing scenes were filmed in Lech, Austria. Other sequences were shot in Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand.
- The film's wet-shirt fantasy deliberately echoes Colin Firth's famous appearance in the 1995 BBC adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice." Firth plays both Darcy characters in the two productions.
- A scene in which Bridget interviews Colin Firth was filmed but omitted from the finished movie. It was later included among the DVD extras.
- Bridget's flat interior was recreated on an Ealing soundstage rather than filmed entirely at the London exterior location. The set expanded on the character's established collection of self-help books.
- The film received a Golden Globe nomination for Renee Zellweger in the Best Actress category for a motion picture comedy or musical.
