Synopsis

Living quietly in India, Jason Bourne is drawn back into a violent world when a Russian assassin frames him for a CIA theft and targets him and Marie. After Marie is killed, Bourne begins a relentless search for the truth, uncovering a conspiracy that reaches into his former agency while evading both professional killers and his own troubled past.

• Although it shares its title with Robert Ludlum's novel, the film uses a substantially different story.

• Filming took place in reverse order of the settings. Moscow material was shot first, followed by Berlin, while the opening scenes in Goa were filmed last.

• The production filmed in locations including Berlin, Moscow and Goa, India, with principal photography running from November 2003 into February 2004.

• The ending was changed and reshot only about two weeks before the theatrical release. The replacement ending performed better in test screenings and became part of the finished film.

• The film's visual style relies heavily on handheld camerawork, rapid editing and a muted color palette, giving the action a tense, observational feel.
