Synopsis
Teenager Bella Swan moves to the rainy town of Forks, Washington, where she becomes fascinated by the mysterious Edward Cullen. Their attraction deepens after Bella discovers that Edward is a vampire who has chosen not to prey on humans. As their relationship grows, a group of dangerous nomadic vampires arrives in town, forcing Bella and Edward to confront a deadly threat together.

- The film adapts Stephenie Meyer's 2005 novel, the first book in the Twilight series.
- Meyer based the original story partly on a dream she had about a human girl and a vampire in a forest. She later made a brief cameo in the film.
- Although the story is set mainly in Forks, Washington, much of the movie was filmed in Oregon, with additional locations in Washington.
- Principal photography took 44 days and was completed in May 2008.
