Synopsis

High school senior Greg Reed spends most of his time daydreaming and chasing Cinny Hawkins, the girl he considers unattainable. When he learns that academic success may bring him closer to her, Greg begins taking school seriously. With help from his friends and pressure from his family, he has to balance romantic fantasies with the realities of growing up.

• The fictional college Morehoward combines the names of Morehouse College and Howard University, two prominent historically Black colleges and universities.

• Filming took place in California from June 15 to July 24, 1998. Narbonne High School in Harbor City supplied many of the school locations, while the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach was also used.

• Guy Torry was nearly 30 while playing a high school student.

• The film marked the on-screen debuts of Farrah Franklin and Raina Lewis.
