Synopsis
Set in New Jersey in 1985, wedding singer Robbie Hart is left at the altar and becomes bitter about romance. He soon befriends Julia, a waitress preparing to marry the wrong man. As Robbie helps her plan the wedding, their growing connection forces both of them to reconsider their relationships, ambitions, and ideas about love.

- Carrie Fisher spent approximately six months polishing the screenplay. Her work focused especially on giving Julia greater emotional depth and independence.
