Synopsis

One year after the Woodsboro murders, Sidney Prescott tries to rebuild her life as a student at Windsor College. Her fragile peace ends when Ghostface begins a new killing spree, targeting students and reviving the trauma of the past. With the media circling and suspicion spreading across campus, Sidney and her friends must uncover the killer before the sequel becomes even deadlier than the original.

• Dimension Films approved the sequel in March 1997 after the unexpected success of Scream. Its $24 million budget was significantly higher than the original film's budget.

• Production lasted only about nine weeks, with Atlanta and Los Angeles standing in for the fictional Windsor College in Ohio.
