Synopsis

In wartime London, novelist Maurice Bendrix begins a passionate affair with Sarah Miles, a married woman whose home life has become emotionally distant. When Sarah abruptly ends their relationship, Maurice is left consumed by jealousy and unanswered questions. Years later, a chance meeting with Sarah's husband draws him into an investigation that gradually uncovers the painful reason behind her decision.
