Synopsis

After returning from World War II, salesman Paul Sutton finds his marriage in trouble and unexpectedly agrees to pose as the husband of pregnant stranger Victoria Aragon. He accompanies her to her family's Napa Valley vineyard, where the deception draws him into a traditional household and awakens a love that challenges both his obligations and Victoria's family's expectations.

• The film is an English-language remake of the 1942 Italian romantic comedy Four Steps in the Clouds.

• It was produced as a United States-Mexico co-production, although much of the vineyard material was filmed in California's Napa Valley. Locations included Beringer Vineyards, Charles Krug Winery, Duckhorn Vineyards, and Haywood Vineyards.

• Pasadena City Hall's large courtyard was used for the film's wine festival sequence, standing in for the story's Napa Valley setting.
