Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo, professionally known as Sarah Geronimo, is a Filipino singer, actress, dancer, television personality, and record producer. Born on July 25, 1988, in Manila, she began performing at an exceptionally young age and developed into one of the most prominent figures in Philippine popular entertainment. Her music combines mainstream pop with dance, R&B, ballad, and occasional rock influences, while her live work is distinguished by strong vocals, choreography, and a polished concert style.
Geronimo first appeared on television as a child, joining programs such as Pen-pen de Sarapen, Ang TV, and NEXT. She also performed in competitions and variety shows before gaining national attention as a teenager. Her breakthrough came in 2003, when she won the televised singing competition Star for a Night. The victory led to a recording contract with Viva Records and established the public image that would follow her for much of her early career: the "Popstar Princess."
Her debut album, Popstar: A Dream Come True, was released in 2003 and became one of the most successful Filipino pop albums of its period. Its success was followed by Sweet Sixteen in 2004, after which Geronimo continued to release albums at a steady pace. Geronimo has further extended her influence through television talent programs.
