Tatyana Marisol Ali (born January 24, 1979) is an American actress and singer whose career has moved between television, film, music, and production. She became widely known as Ashley Banks on the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, a role that made her one of the most recognizable young performers on American television during the 1990s. Her work has since expanded into dramatic acting, independent film, television movies, music, and advocacy-oriented projects.
Ali began performing as a child in New York. Early appearances included work on Sesame Street, stage productions, and television talent programs. Her childhood experience was not limited to screen acting: she also appeared in theater, including a Broadway production of August Wilson's Fences. In 2023, she portrayed educator and author Ni'cola Mitchell in the Lifetime film Giving Hope: The Ni'Cola Mitchell Story and appeared in the Fresh Prince reimagining Bel-Air.
