Jeanette Biedermann is a German singer, actress, television personality, and occasional songwriter who became one of the most recognizable pop performers in Germany during the 2000s. Born Jean Biedermann on February 22, 1980, in Berlin, she began performing at an early age as a member of the children's Circus Lilliput. Her first professional break came through the Bild-Schlagerwettbewerb talent competition, which she won in 1998. The victory led to a recording contract with Polydor and launched her career in music.
In 1999, Biedermann released her debut single, "Das tut unheimlich weh," and took part in the German selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing fourth. Around the same time, she entered television acting, joining the cast of the long-running soap opera "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten."
