Synopsis
In a dim, industrial-looking warehouse, model Janina Wissler dances alone while footage of Guru Josh performing at a rave plays on a television. The performance becomes increasingly provocative as she moves through the empty space and removes her dress, leaving her in lingerie. She eventually picks up a mallet and smashes the television, destroying the link to the rave footage. The video combines late-2000s dance-pop sensuality with imagery that recalls the track's original acid-house roots.
Factoids & Trivia
- "Infinity 2008" revived Guru Josh's 1989 acid-house hit nearly two decades after its original release. The new version was remixed by German DJ and producer Klaas and credited to the Guru Josh Project.
- German model Janina Wissler appears as the video's central performer. She was previously known for her Playboy modeling work and later used the name Janina Mrosek.
- The television set provides the video's main visual connection between the 1989 rave era and the 2008 comeback. Its destruction gives the clip a deliberately theatrical closing image.
- The original "Infinity" was reportedly made for a warehouse party organized by a friend, which also used "Infinity" as its name.
- The 2008 revival became a major European dance hit. In the United Kingdom, it reached No. 3 on the Official Singles Chart, spent 28 weeks on the chart, and reached No. 1 on the Official Dance Singles Chart.
