Synopsis

Christina Aguilera turns a romantic thank-you into a full-scale dance performance. In a warehouse-like party space, she and her female dancers take over the room while the assembled young men are told to cover their eyes. The video alternates between energetic group choreography, close-ups of Aguilera perched on speakers, and a stylized medieval fantasy tableau with women fanning her on a chaise longue. It closes with the entire group gathered around Aguilera and her love interest in a celebratory dance.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed in Downtown Los Angeles from July 18-20, 1999. Its location had previously been used for Paula Abdul's 1989 video "Cold Hearted."

• Tina Landon handled the choreography. The tightly synchronized routines helped make the clip a strong fit for late-1990s MTV pop programming.

• French model Paul Forgues appears as Aguilera's romantic counterpart.

• Brandon Routh, who later played Superman in *Superman Returns*, appears as one of the video's extras.

• The clip debuted on MTV during the week ending November 14, 1999, and reached No. 1 on *Total Request Live* on December 16.

• It reportedly became MTV's most-played video for six consecutive weeks and earned Aguilera five nominations at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, including Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, Best Choreography and Viewer's Choice.
