Synopsis

Set against a stark, rocky shoreline, Tori Amos performs "China" in a series of solitary, dreamlike images. She moves across the beach toward a man carefully building a circular stone pile, while the video's subdued palette and lingering close-ups mirror the song's sense of emotional distance. The natural landscape becomes a visual counterpart to the relationship at the center of the song: intimate yet unreachable, with physical closeness repeatedly giving way to separation and silence.
