Garbage's "Milk" is an atmospheric performance video rather than a conventional narrative. • The main album-version video was filmed as a single take, an unusual approach that makes the camera movement and changing proximity to the band part of the performance.

• The shoot was relocated from Paris to London because moving the production to the United Kingdom was more economical. The band flew in for the shoot and returned afterward.

• Two edits were produced. The single-take version accompanied the album mix, while another edit added extra footage of Shirley Manson for versions connected with the Siren and Wicked mixes.

• The video was added to VH1's US playlist on November 11, 1996, with MTV following a week later. MTV Europe subsequently designated it a Buzz Bin clip in December 1996.
