Synopsis

Kylie Minogue drives through the night before appearing alone on a rotating bed in a glamorous bedroom. She discovers a secret escape route hidden behind a candelabra and slides down a fireman's pole into an underground party. There, her gold dress has become red, and she joins the revelers in a playful dance sequence around a pool table. The video closes with a pinball machine displaying the *Light Years* album artwork.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Please Stay" was released in 2000 as the fourth single from Minogue's seventh studio album, *Light Years*.

• The video continues the album era's bright, playful pop aesthetic, using theatrical set design, costume changes, and a deliberately surreal transition from bedroom to party.

• The rotating bed, hidden pole, and underground room give the clip a dreamlike sense of movement rather than presenting a conventional narrative.

• The closing pinball machine features the *Light Years* album cover, linking the single's visual world directly to its parent album.

• The song reached No. 10 in the United Kingdom and No. 15 in Australia. It was certified gold in Australia.

• Minogue later performed "Please Stay" during the KylieFever2002 and Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour shows.
