Did you watch TV lately? Then you may have stumbled across the new Crysler campaign featuring Dieter Zetsche. The - we must admit - cool commercial introduces Mr. Zetsche as an easy-going guy who is proud of his product.

Mr. Z as the advertising agency named him (also opened a website) takes a fellow guy for a test-drive with a new Chrysler. Now the question: is this ad for you? Does it reach its audience?

Well, we at Clipland like the ad. Other bloggers, editors and even the average Joe seems to have problems from time to time.

On it sais that "one Chrysler dealer said his research found seven out of 10 customers liked them. Only half, however, were as fond of the radio commercials; the remainder said they had a hard time understanding Mr. Zetsche's German accent." even claims to have drilled down that the ad indeed is bad for sales and sees a relationship between the start of the Dr. Z campaign and a recent drop in sales.

web stuff: -a large poster of Dr. Z on the Chrysler Headquaters -the website -wikipedia entry for Mr. Zetsche
