Hollywood News, Comic Book Adaptations focus

"Hellboy" director Guillermo del Toro is bound to direct the comic-book adaptation of "Deadman" for Warner. Protagonist in the film is the dead circus artiste Boston Brand who returns with overnatural power to take revenge on his murderers. DC comics, the brand behind all thos superheros and film adaptations is also willing to bring "The Doom Patrol" to the big screen.

Also scheduled for a cinematic release is the adaptation of "The Spirit". Sin City creator Frank Miller will co-direct.

Another Hollywood-newcomer director will helm the second installment in the "Hulk" feature film series: Louis Leterrier, infamous force behind the "The Transporter" films will follow the path slashed by Ang Lee in 2003.

The star of "Brokeback Mountain", Heath Ledger, has now signed on to be the ultimate bad guy in the next Batman film "The Dark Knight", scheduled for release in 2008 and directed by Christopher Nolan (Memento).

Kate Bosworth, by the way, will star in the new "Superman Returns". 1
