From Clipland Clipland Web Search Results pages (in contrast to Catalog Search Results) have a "URL" link on each results item. Just right click this link and select "Save link target as..." with your browser. As this might work on MOV/Quicktime files, it doesn't work on WindowsMedia RealMedia in most cases. This is because these formats use a redirector file to link to the real file's location. In this case you have to use special downloading software or you need to open the playlist/redirector file with a viewer tool like <a href='http://portal.clipland.com/showplaylist'>Clipland Portal's "Playlist Viewer"</a> and track down the real URL. Then downloading might work. From YouTube, DailyMotion, GoogleVideo Social video website made it quite difficult to track down the real deep-link stream-URL. This is partly because they use overlay networks like Akamai and partly because they don't want you to download their videos. Anyway, there are some services out there which make it easy to download video files from these sites. A recommendation is <a href='http://www.keepvid.com'>Keepvid</a>. Elsewhere Directly linked videos Directly linked videos are easy to download in most cases. This is because they are often just hosted on simple webservers and thus do not use special streaming servers which would make it hard to download the files. So if you would like to download such a file just use the "Save link target as..." function or save the page (which is essentially the video itself) where you are watching the video. Embedded videos First you need to track down the html page which holds the "embed" object (the part where you see the video). Then, using Mozilla you just use the "View" tab from the browser's menu and select "Page Info". Mozilla then opens a menju showing all elements of the page. Switch to "Media" and scroll down until you see an entry marked with "embed". Select it and then copy the shown URL. Voila! If you are not using Mozilla, open the html sourcecode of the video's page. Scroll down to the object tag having the word "embed" in it. Look for an entry labeled "SRC" or "URL". This is the deep-link URL location of the video.
