Synopsis
A mysterious woman moves through a shadowy, surreal world where reptiles and human imagery seem to merge. The video introduces her fascination with lizards, presenting her as an alluring but unsettling figure whose identity appears to be changing. Mauro Picotto appears within the unfolding mystery, while ritualistic imagery and strange transformations establish an atmosphere of danger and supernatural intrigue. Rather than offering a self-contained conclusion, "Iguana" functions as the opening chapter of a larger story continued by "Komodo" and "Proximus."
Factoids & Trivia
- "Iguana" is the opening installment of a video trilogy completed by "Komodo" and "Proximus." The three clips follow the encounters between an investigator and a mysterious woman associated with reptilian imagery.
- The video was produced in 1999 by the German production company Panic Pictures.
- "Iguana" formed part of Picotto's reptile-themed run of releases, following "Lizard" and preceding "Komodo." The titles helped create a recognizable visual and musical motif around his late-1990s trance work.
- The single was issued in several extended versions, including the Megavoices Mix, Blank & Jones Remix, Megamind Remix, R.A.F. by Picotto Mix, and Mas Mix. The original Video Cut runs for approximately three minutes and forty seconds.
- "Iguana" reached No. 33 on the UK Singles Chart and also charted in Germany and Switzerland.
- The video is notable for establishing the visual mythology later developed in "Komodo" and "Proximus," rather than resolving the story on its own.
