Synopsis

Stereophonics spend the video riding together in a car, turning an ordinary drive into a loose, mischievous band hangout. Stuart Cable takes the wheel while the others sing along, exchange looks, and pass around a packet of Jelly Babies. The relaxed mood gradually becomes more surreal as the car continues on its journey and eventually sinks underwater, leaving the band still performing inside. The simple setup matches the song's reflective but playful attitude toward wanting more without committing to it.

Factoids & Trivia

  • "Just Looking" was released as the second single from Stereophonics' 1999 album "Performance and Cocktails." It reached number four on the UK Singles Chart and number 18 in Ireland.
  • The song was written in September 1997 in a hotel room in Amsterdam. Kelly Jones later said it began as a kind of to-do list before becoming a lyric.
  • The video uses a Jaguar XJ6 Series III as the band's traveling setting.
  • Stuart Cable is shown driving the car, while the band members pass around Jelly Babies. The sequence ends with the vehicle sinking underwater.
  • The single's UK releases included the original B-side "Postmen Do Not Great Movie Heroes Make," a live version of "Same Size Feet," and the band's cover of The Kinks' "Sunny Afternoon."
  • The track was part of the run of major singles that helped turn "Performance and Cocktails" into Stereophonics' breakthrough album in the United Kingdom.
