Synopsis

Slaughter's "Shout It Out" opens with two trucks moving along a fenced road before shifting to a couple watching television. Their viewing is interrupted by Slaughter performing near large satellite dishes, with Mark Slaughter delivering the song as the band plays in a stark outdoor setting. Clips from the 1991 film "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" are woven throughout, connecting the performance to the movie's irreverent science-fiction world. The video alternates between the band, the television sequence, and scenes from the film.

Factoids & Trivia

  • "Shout It Out" was recorded for the soundtrack to "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey," released in 1991.
  • Mark Slaughter and bassist Dana Strum wrote the song in a hotel conference room while Slaughter was touring with Cinderella.
  • The video combines newly filmed band footage with clips from "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey," making it function as both a promotional music video and a soundtrack tie-in.
  • The track was Slaughter's first newly recorded release in roughly two years and was later certified gold.
  • Despite the band's success around the time of "Stick It to Ya," "Shout It Out" did not reach the US Billboard Hot 100.
