Synopsis

The Pointer Sisters prepare separately for an elegant night out. Anita gets dressed and applies her makeup, Ruth turns her bedroom into a playful whirlwind while choosing an outfit, and June relaxes in a bubble bath. Once they arrive at a fashionable club, the sisters quickly become the evening's focus, drawing admiring looks from the guests. Their polished entrance gives way to a full-scale celebration, with the party crowd eventually dancing along to the song's exuberant chorus.

• The song was first released in September 1982 and initially reached No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100. A remixed re-release in 1984 became the bigger hit, climbing to No. 9.

• Anita, June, and Ruth Pointer co-wrote the song with Trevor Lawrence. Richard Perry produced the recording.

• Actor and singer Dorian Harewood appears in the video.

• The video is associated with the group's "So Excited!" period, although databases sometimes identify the promo as a 1984 music video because of the later remix campaign.
