Synopsis

Oasis appear as animated figures aboard a bright yellow spaceship, cruising through a surreal universe of strange creatures, floating landscapes and colorful cosmic scenery. Their journey feels like a deliberately oversized, psychedelic adventure, with the band moving through a visual world inspired by classic 1960s pop animation. At one point, enormous fountain pens attack the vessel by firing streams of ink. Live-action elements and cartoon imagery eventually blend together, matching the song's increasingly expansive arrangement and its grand, celebratory refrain.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video is a clear homage to The Beatles' 1968 animated film "Yellow Submarine." The yellow spaceship, surreal landscapes, unusual creatures and playful visual logic all echo that film without reproducing its story.

• The production was unusually ambitious for an Oasis promo. Reportedly, 24 computer animators worked on it for approximately six months.

• "All Around the World" was released as the third single from "Be Here Now" on January 12, 1998. Its full version runs for 9 minutes and 38 seconds, making it the longest song to reach No. 1 on the UK singles chart.

• Noel Gallagher had written the song years earlier and had already performed it with Oasis in rehearsal footage from the pre-fame period. He reportedly held it back until the band could afford the large-scale orchestral production he wanted.

• The finished clip reflects the oversized character of "Be Here Now," an album known for dense arrangements, extended running times and a deliberately extravagant presentation.

• The video was nominated for Best Music Video at the 1999 Grammy Awards.
