Mad Caddies turn "Road Rash" into a fast, loose burst of late-1990s ska-punk chaos. • The video was filmed at the Goleta home of Stacey Dee, later known as the guitarist and vocalist of Bad Cop/Bad Cop. Chuck Robertson recalled that the garage sequences showing everyone running around were shot at her place.

• "Road Rash" appears on Duck and Cover, the Mad Caddies' second full-length album, released by Fat Wreck Chords in 1998. The song opens the record and runs for just over two minutes.

• The track is one of the clearest examples of the band's early blend of punk, ska, brass, and Dixieland-inspired arranging. Former member Sascha Lazor identified that New Orleans-influenced direction as a major part of the song's conception.
