Quite possibly the best video of all time! When considering lyrics, musical composition, and the depth of its haunting images. . . it just may be the best video of all time. Anybody who has lived can relate to this song. What a terrible shame it is unavailable to the public. Don Henly could do us all a favor and produce a greatest hits dvd.

The images and scenes in this music video are as mature, thoughtful, and disturbing as the lyrics themselves. Shot In beautiful black and white, with an overcranked 35mm camera to give it a surreal, dream-like quality gives it a sense of
nostalgia laced with a feeling of loss.
The scenes, in fact, are re-creations of photographs by the great 1950s social landscape photographer, Robert Frank,
from his seminal book "The Americans"
Published in 1958 by the Museum of Modern Art. Rather than a rip-off, the video,
I believe , is a homage and loving tribute. And anyone who has seen the video, then looks at the photos in this book can see the connection. Unfortunately, this video, is not available commercially on VHS or DVD. If anyone has taped it off of TV, I would love a copy. For now, it will remain forever etched into my memory as one of the best videos I've ever seen.
